Understanding Verrucas (Plantar Warts)
Verrucas, or plantar warts, are lesions that typically occur on the soles of your feet or hands and are caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). While the virus is essentially harmless, the lesions can cause discomfort.
Verruca usually clear up on their own without treatment. However, if you’re struggling with painful, stubborn, or extensive verrucae, we offer a range of treatment options.
Is it definitely a Verruca?
We offer initial Verruca consultation appointments to confirm / diagnose whether it is definitely a Verruca – it might be something else entirely, such as a corn or papilloma. Misdiagnosis happens more often than you think!
What are my treatment options?
We offer a variety of treatment options, for adults and children. At your initial verruca consultation, we can talk you through the different treatment options and advise you which options are suitable for you – because everyone’s needs are different. Treatment choice can depend on age, health status / prescribed medication, lifestyle, and previous treatments tried.
When do I start treatment?
We can start treatment immediately, at your initial verruca concentration, if it’s appropriate. We can book you a course of treatment in advance, at dates / times that suit you.
Do you offer any specialist verruca treatments?
We do indeed! Tried all the over the counter options? Not working? Swift is different.
What type of appointment should I book?
An initial verruca consultation is the right choice for new patients who are only looking to treat verrucae. If you also have other podiatry concerns too, then book a New Patient appointment.
