MSK Recovery programs

Why a program approach?

Chronic musculoskeletal problems such as tendon pain, arthritis, plantar heel pain or long-standing foot and ankle discomfort are rarely caused by a single issue – and rarely improve in one visit alone.

For long-term improvement, these conditions usually require:

Our MSK Recovery Programs are designed to bring these elements together to provide exactly that — a clear, structured, evidence-based pathway rather than a series of disconnected appointments.

An MSK Recovery Program is a clinician-led plan of care, delivered over a defined period, aimed at:

  • Reducing pain
  • Improving function and movement
  • Supporting tissue healing
  • Reducing the risk of recurrence
  • Rather than paying separately for assessments, treatments and reviews, your care is coordinated into a single program tailored to your diagnosis and needs.

Spreading the costs. MSK Recovery Programs are delivered over a defined period of time. To make it easier to manage, program fees may be spread over monthly payment, typically across three months. Please speak to your podiatrist if you would like to discuss payment options.

Our program are commonly used for:

  • Tendinopathies (Achilles, tibialis posterior, peroneals, plantar fascia)
  • Osteoarthritis of the foot, ankle or midfoot
  • Recurrent forefoot pain
  • Long-standing biomechanical overload injuries
  • Persistent post-injury pain or stiffness

Your podiatrist will always confirm suitability following assessment.

Every MSK Recovery Programs is built around the same core principles:

  • Comprehensive biomechanical & MSK assessment
  • Clear diagnosis and explanation of your condition
  • Digital foot scan assessment, where clinically appropriate
  • Targeted treatment sessions (such as shockwave or laser therapy, selected by your clinician)
  • Individualised rehabilitation program, with progression over time
  • Footwear and activity guidance
  • Personalised and exercise program for progressive strengthening and load management
  • Review and reassessment to track progress and adjust treatment

Biomechanical intervention allowance. Allowance may be used towards off-the-shelf or custom Phits orthotics when clinically indicated. Where required, biomechanical interventions such as orthoses may also form part of your plan.

Most MSK Recovery Programs are delivered over approximately 12 weeks, which reflects typical recovery timelines for chronic musculoskeletal conditions and allows time for accurate diagnosis, targeted treatment, rehabilitation, and review.

In some cases — particularly where symptoms are long-standing, workloads are physically demanding, or activity modification is limited — progress may be slower. Your podiatrist will review your response to treatment throughout the program and adjust the pace or approach where appropriate, ensuring care remains structured and goal-focused.

The aim of each program is to provide a clear phase of recovery-focused care, followed by review and agreed next steps, based on your progress and individual circumstances.

A structured program allows us to:

  • Take a proactive, long-term view of your condition
  • Monitor progress objectively
  • Adjust treatment as your body responds
  • Focus on function and long-term resolution, not just short-term symptom relief

For many patients, this leads to better outcomes and greater confidence in managing their condition long-term.

  • Clear supported treatment pathway, so you always know the next step
  • Reduced pain, getting you back on your feet asap
  • Improved movement and function
  • Support tissue healing
  • Reduced risk of reoccurance an prevention plan

Program levels

We offer different program levels to reflect the severity and complexity of your condition. Your podiatrist will recommend the most appropriate option after assessment.

Essential Program

assessment, rehabilitation and review

Essential Program

Typical use: Suitable for mild to moderate conditions, early intervention, or patients who require structured assessment and rehabilitation without additional treatment sessions.

Your podiatrist will recommend the most appropriate program following assessment.

Complete Program

includes treatment sessions and biomechanical support

Complete Program

Typical use: Designed for chronic or recurring pain where symptoms persist, return with activity, or require a combination of treatment, biomechanical support, and rehabilitation.

Your podiatrist will recommend the most appropriate program following assessment.

Advanced Program

extended care for complex or long-standing conditions

Advanced Program

Typical use: Appropriate for long-standing, complex, or high-demand cases, including recurrent conditions, advanced arthritis, or patients requiring a higher level of ongoing clinical input

Your podiatrist will recommend the most appropriate program following assessment.

All MSK Recovery Programs begin with a comprehensive biomechanics and musculoskeletal assessment.
