Biomechanics Assessment
At Feet and Motion we offer specialised biomechanics assessment (also referred to as musculoskeletal/MSK) and gait analysis services to diagnose and treat pain and injury. Understanding the biomechanics of your feet and lower limbs is essential for identifying the root causes of pain or discomfort and preventing further injury.
A biomechanic assessment consists of an in-depth assessment of your lower limb muscle action and joint position (musculoskeletal), limb alignment and movement (gait analysis). During this appointment we can identify various problems that can result in injuries, pain and dysfunction in your feet, ankles, knees, hips, and back.
We will take a detailed medical and lifestyle history and then carry out a range of assessments on your feet and lower limbs both seated and standing. We look at how you walk and move by visual observation and by using our Footscan digital gait analysis pressure plate to produce a highly accurate and detailed assessment.
Based on our findings we will recommend a comprehensive treatment plan and make recommendations for on-going support. This may include recommendations on footwear, orthotics (insoles), a personal rehabilitation exercise plan and if needed we may recommend other specialist therapies such as laser or shockwave.
If you have pain and/or injury, then book a biomechanics assessment and let us help you get back to doing what you love.
