Children’s Podiatry
At Feet and Motion all podiatrists are registered with the Royal College of Podiatry and Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) giving you the piece of mind that we can deliver foot care to children in a safe and child friendly environment.
The medical term for children’s podiatry is ‘podopaediatrics.’ Podopaediatrics is an area of podiatry focussing on the treatment of children and the various conditions that can affect a young person’s lower limbs.
As children grow their bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments undergo periods of rapid change until they reach their final adult size and position. Sometimes during these changes problems can occur. Commons concerns include:
- Flat feet
- Joint pain
- Heel pain
- Development concerns
- Hypermobility
- Inherited conditions
- Verruca
- In-growing toenails

Helping Your Child Move Forward with Confidence
If you have concerns about your child, be assured that we welcome all ages and provide inclusive care for children with special needs. During the appointment we will take family and medical history, details of any sports or activities, and assess your child seated, standing, and walking. We can provide advice on footwear, provide orthotics to support your child’s feet, provide targeted exercise programs, and give advice and reassurance on normal stages of development. If necessary, we can make onward referrals to orthopaedics, rheumatoid, or podiatric surgery.
