Nail Surgery

What is nail surgery?

Nail surgery is a minor surgical procedure performed under local anaesthetic to remove all or part of the toenail. The nail can either be allowed to re-grow or it can be treated with a chemical to permanently prevent regrowth. We can remove the entire nail or just a narrow section on one side, so once fully healed the nail still looks normal.

The most common reasons for nail surgery are:

In-grown toenails can occur for several reasons and can usually be resolved with a conservative treatment. However, your podiatrist may recommend nail surgery if you have an in-grown nail that is not responding well to conservative treatment, if you have suffered repeated infections, or if you have excessively thick damaged nails.

Nail Surgery is performed by our podiatrists. If you’re new to Feet and Motion, please book an Initial Consultation first and we can discuss all your treatment options for painful or problematic nails.
