Core Services
Diabetes and Systemic Diseases
At Feet and Motion we care about the person, not just the foot and our team includes a highly experienced diabetes and wound care specialist.
Foot health can be severely impacted by systemic diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and fibromyalgia.
Common complications which affect foot and lower limb health include:
- Impaired circulation
- Neuropathy (nerve damage)
- Pressure points due to joint deformity
- Reduced mobility due to problems with balance, muscle weakness, or pain.

Comprehensive Foot Care for Systemic Health Conditions
These complications increase the risk of delayed healing and ulceration.
Podiatrists have extensive knowledge about systemic diseases and medication, and the impact these conditions can have on people’s general health and foot health. We use diagnostic techniques, such as an ultrasound doppler, to diagnose and monitor the effects of systemic health conditions.
We can provide orthotics to address pressure points and reduce the risk of skin damage and ulceration. We can treat skin problems and infections to decrease the risk of cellulitis and ulceration. We can also offer prompt onward referral to the NHS and private specialist urgent wound care centres if necessary.
We offer a foot health screening service for people with diabetes. These appointments include diabetic foot health care advice, footwear advice, vascular and neurological assessment.
