Nail and Skin Care
Healthy, comfortable feet play an important role in keeping us mobile, active and independent. Yet everyday foot problems, from thickened toenails to painful corns and hard skin, can make walking and daily activities increasingly uncomfortable.
At Feet & Motion, we provide professional nail and skin care for people of all ages, whether you need help with a particular problem or benefit from regular, ongoing foot care.
For many of our patients, routine podiatry appointments are an important part of maintaining their foot health. This is particularly true for people who find it difficult to manage their own nails and skin because of reduced mobility, changes in eyesight, medical conditions, or other physical difficulties.
Our care includes nail cutting and management, reduction of thickened nails, removal of corns and callus, and advice on keeping your feet comfortable and healthy.
We recognise that good podiatry isn’t always about treating a new problem. Sometimes it’s about preventing problems from developing, managing long-term conditions and helping people maintain their comfort, confidence and independence.
Common Nail and Skin Conditions We Treat
Alongside regular nail and skin care, our podiatrists assess and manage a wide range of foot conditions.
Explore the sections below to learn more about common conditions we treat and the care available at Feet and Motion.
Corns and Callus
Corns and callus develop in response to repeated pressure or friction and can cause significant discomfort when walking or wearing footwear. Our podiatrists can safely remove painful corns and reduce hard skin, while offering advice on managing the underlying causes and reducing recurrence.
Verruca
Verruca are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and can affect people of all ages. Although many resolve naturally, some become painful or persistent, and our podiatrists can assess the condition and advise on appropriate treatment options.
Fungal Nail Infections
Fungal nail infections can cause nails to become thickened, discoloured, brittle, or difficult to manage. Our podiatrists can assess the extent of the infection, discuss appropriate treatment options and provide ongoing nail care to help maintain comfort and nail health.
Ingrowing Toenails
Ingrowing toenails can cause significant pain, inflammation and sometimes infection, making everyday activities uncomfortable. Our podiatrists offer a range of treatments, from conservative nail care to minor nail surgery, depending on the severity of the condition.
Diabetes and Systemic Conditions
Diabetes and certain other medical conditions can affect circulation, sensation, and the health of the feet, increasing the risk of complications. Regular podiatry care plays an important role in prevention, early identification of problems, and maintaining long-term foot health.
